Liver

The liver is classified as the largest exocrine gland in the body, for it produces and secretes bile into the hepatic ducts. Bile is the substance responsible for  breaking down fats to help aid in digestion.  

What were looking for:

Ultra sound screening may reveal an enlarged liver. Causes may include: alcoholism, cancer, heart failure, hepatitis and a fatty liver. Other signs for abnormalities may include texture and density, as well as the presence of cysts, nodules, masses, and stones.
